King Tony aka Anthony Abbinanti has been a mainstay of the Midwest Reggae scene for over 15 years.  As the drummer, principle song-writer and de facto leader Chicago’s original live-dub reggae band The Drastics, he has recorded and produced over five albums of original material collaborating with Jamaican vocalists such as ska-foundation singer Derrick Morgan and rub-a-dub deejays Michigan & Smiley.  His mashup of original Michael Jackson vocal tracks over newly recorded and meticulously arranged reggae instrumentals (‘MJ A Rocker’) has been downloaded and reposted countless times across the internet (usually without credit!).  In addition to his work in the studio he has backed reggae legends Derrick Harriott, Dennis Alcapone, Pat Kelly, Susan Cadogan, Lady Ann, Carlton Livingston, Winston Francis, and Charley Organaire as well as shared stages with The Skatalites, The Meditations, Scientist, Shinehead, HR, Mikey Dread, The Slits, Mad Professor, and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.  Anthony currently holds DJ residences at The Owl (Social Club), Analogue (Reggae Brunch), Five Star Bar (Soulnite) and Logan Arcade (We Nuh’ Easy).
